Rating: - gore
overall, this is a psone game and you have to remember that when playing. some fun in blowing people anyway and seeing so much gore, but that was when i was 13 years old. for those that want to remember their childhood, this is something that you will play for a short time, for others...it might just be another game that you can add to the collection to say that you have it.
Rating: - bloody good time
Back when the Playstation was first released in the mid 90's, there weren't many straight-ahead shooting/violent/extremely bloody games around. Loaded marks one of the first, not to mention finest, nonstop shooting games released back in 1996.
You can pick between 6 characters, each with their own special shooting weapon. It's pretty cool how each weapon has a very distinct look for each character. One character called Mamma, has a thick-looking laser beam that just smears any enemies that happen to be standing in the way.
The look of the game is from a top-down perspective, and the game is incredibly fast and bloody. The idea is to collect keys and health packs in order to advance to the next area. All the stages are like mazes. I forget how many stages their are, but you will discover a LOT of them.
There's music on this disc if you put the game in a CD player. Really melodic, catchy music that isn't anywhere in the game. It's good. Try it.
My father played the first level of Loaded on an old demo disc and didn't think the game was that great. He said going around shooting everything that moves is boring and mindless. However, going around shooting is exactly what I like. If that's what you like, this game won't disappoint.
There's a cheat code to fill up on infinite amounts of health if you happen to think the game is too hard, and need help. Also worth noting is that the Saturn version is equally as good. I destroyed my friends Saturn copy back in 1997 (I was an idiot back then). The Playstation and Saturn versions are equally as good, and almost exactly the same. Get either one.
Rating: - Loaded and ready to kill (you)
Loaded is probably one of the best games I've ever played. You leave prison blocks messy blood banks, and the killing makes you foam at the mouth and bleed through your ears. It's a killing field. And that's what makes it so fun! The music is awesome and the graphics, well who cares about graphics, I mean it's not like 80's Tetris or anything, I mean they're pretty good, but the gameplay is great. Keeps you entertained for hours, if you're really into limitless mass murder.
Rating: - Thank God Gauntlet is finally being brought back home
Loaded, while fun for a short period of time, is no gauntlet, though it seems to be modeled after that great game. Loaded is "loaded" with flashing lights and explosions (sure to send anyone into an epilieptic siezure). These affects make it extrmely hard to keo track of your character. To make matters worse, supplies are extremely limited in two player mode. You must share the already scant resources with your partner. The game does have a lot of blood and violnce, thoug. The graphics, however, are lacking. If you are looking for a mindless shooter that you will be bored of in ten minutes? Then get Loaded. Play it if a friend rents it!
