Editorial Review:
Experience the pure beauty and freedom of flight, without guns, without missiles, and without leaving your couch. Aero Wings puts you in control of the Blue Impulse stunt airplane team. You lead the team through precision maneuvers and death-defying loops. In either the challenging one-player or simultaneous multiplayer modes, Aero Wings is all about perfect stunt flying, free of the burdens of air combat.

The meat of the game is the Blue Impulse tour mode, where you enter several air shows. As you pull off intense and graceful stunts in follow-the-leader type aerobatics, you score enough points and progress to the next of 20 diverse missions. Sky mission mode has you flying through suspended hoops in challenging time trials. Throw in the free flight mode and the beautiful replays, and Aero Wings is a uniquely beautiful and addictive game. --Sajed Ahmed

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Difficult and not rewarding
This game seems like it was designed for an arcade stick, and seeing as how I do not have a dreamcast flightstick and have no knowledge of one or urge to buy one, I have to say that the dreamcast controller is not nearly adequate. Though the control scheme is fairly friendly, the sensitivity of the analog will send you flying into barrel rolls with a movement of a fraction of a degree, with no options that I could find to adjust this (though I didn't look hard, as I was far too disappointed with the game to keep going). Turning in formation is nearly impossible, and why would you want to if you couldn't swoop in on enemies together. Because there are none. No guns. No nothing. It's like cheese pizza: it's still kinda good, but you feel like it isn't complete.

I borrowed it from a friend and couldn't stay on it for more than ten minutes.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good, not classic game
Being an aviation enthusiast myself, I found it painful to demote this game to 4 stars, as it has tons of potential that may or may not have been unlocked in AeroWings II (I do not have this game...yet),but I believe it could have been done in such a way that it catered to all ages, as the concepts of flight you need to grasp in order to fullfill the missions are both involved and sophisticated. However,if you have previous knowledge, you will find this game quite enjoyable, and might want to consider buying it, as I have come across no better flight simulation.Although I do not recomend buying this soley for a child, if you are into aviation and have a child, he/she might enjoy the free flight mode where you can do as many crazy aerobatic manuevers as you want... just don't hit the other planes. While this game is not superior to other games in terms of graphics, sound, or any other technological feats, that is personally not what I look at before buying a game. Instead I judge them on how enjoyable they are to play. Therefore, this game earns an A+, and I'm glad I bought it. That brings me back to why I gave it 4 stars. The answer? I wanted to scare away those not familiar with aviation from buying the game based on the mostly positive reviews other than mine.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Horrible game big waste of money SONIC ADVENTURE 2 RULES!
Aerowings has a nice veriety of planes to choose from. The plane graphics are great but the enviromental graphics arn't so good. The first times you play it it can be fun to land and take off the plane, but soon it just gets kinda borin'. You don't get to shoot down other planes and make them crash to the sea or blow up all the buildings, it's just fly'in around like an air show. You don't get to land on any air craft carriers so that makes it no fun! The music can get very annoying, somtimes it makes me feel like smashing my fist into my T.V screen to stop that horrible racket! Even if you like this game in the begening you'll get so bored of it you'll wish you hadn't even bought it!Overall I would give this a thumbs down 2 star failer. Don't waste your money on this other games like Airforce Delta are good. Here are my ratings if you wish to read them.

graphics: Horrible

music: Even Worse

missions; Boring

replay value: All of the Above

overall rating; 2 stars! (PATHETIC)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Game!!
I recieved this game nearly a year ago, and it still has my interest. It is full of different aircraft which are very accurate. Also, this game is a console flight simulator, acutally it is the first one I've seen. The graphics are fairly good for what the game is. I give Aerowings 5 stars!! *****

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - For people SERIOUS about aviation
For everyone who loves aviation, this is an incredible game.It simulates TRUE flight in various aircraft. The phyics are right on,the detailed planes are incredible, and each plane handles true to character. For people longing to be real life pilots this is a great experience. For trigger-happy individuals, wait for Aerowings 2:Air Strike.
