Okay, all you people that don't like farm games and are into action games and racing games and sports games, I do not think that you should buy or rent this game. But, if you are like me and you are just looking for a game that you can play anytime you want, a game that is challening but not frusterating, and a game with TONS of different options, then this game is it! When I first heard about this game I said, "Dad, I have to have this." I was sick of all of our old games like the baseball games and the racing games. They're fun, but they get boring. Anyways, the very next day I went out and bought Harvest Moon 64, and let me tell you, when I first plugged it in I was like, WOW, this game rocks. Aside from the fact that I LOVE games where I get to name my character and all of that good stuff, this game also lets you do your own thing. You don't have to follow a certain plot line - it's all what you want. I'm not saying this game is perfect- no, that would be unfair if I said that. They're are three flaws in this game that I noticed, and none of them are all that significant: 1. The music can get annoying with all of the starting and stopping that it does, but that can be fixed by simply turning the sound down. 2. There are some errors spelling-wise in the game, which makes me think it was not written carefully. 3. Once you get married and you have a baby, the baby never grows up and you can't have anymore kids.
Those were the only problems that bugged me about this game. Otherwise, it was a wonderful game that brought me countless hours of enjoyment. I have had it for three years and I still play it because there are so many things to do in it. If you buy it, you won't be sorry. If you don't buy it, you're missing out. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and buy it!!!

Alright, I married Karen have a little boy and have played 24 years of in game fun.I have over 100,000 dollars have all the house extentions, won the horse race all the time, 2 cows with golden milk and have won the cow contest every year. Won the dog race(3rd place.) Have a sheep with high quality wool and 6 chickens. My whole entire field is covered in grass and all the other women are in pink. I have a lot of recipies and all the house things inside.I have bought everything from rick's toolshop and have befriended everyone.Neat, eh? You can tell that this game has a lot to do and you'll almost never tire of it. I give the highest rating in everything.You can have all different fruit and veggies. I have the harvest moon game for playstation 1 and 2 (save the homeland and back to nature.) the n64 one and the harvest moon 3 for gameboy and am planning to get the gamecube and the game boy advance versions in the future.So you can marry Karen the owner of the vineyard's daughter, Popuri the girl from the florist, maria the librarian, Ann from the green ranch,and elli the baker.the only flaw is that you can only be a boy, and you can only have a son.WEll have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This amazing game offers everything! As a young boy taking responsibility of your grandfather's farmland, you are placed in a village where there is always something new to discover. The options are limitless; you must prepare the land, grow crops, care for animals, race in local horse and dog competitions, and fish. There are many characters you can befriend or fall in love with. You can even start a family. This is a great game for all ages and is EXTREMELY addictive. It's too bad it has been discontinued, but a new version is coming soon for Gameboy Advance and Gamecube

I'm a big fan of the Harvest Moon series, and think this the best one, although Harvest Moon 3 GBC is good because you can play as a girl. You can have up to 4 files(I have one and gave one to my sisters and my best friend), marry one of five girls(Ann ROCKS! Well, she's the most helpful and one of the easier ones to marry), have a kid, plant vegetables, go fishing, get animals (sheep, cow, chiken, and you start of with a dog and get a free horse), buy tools, talk to town people or even Harvest Sprites, pick berries or mushrooms, sell vegetables (ok, you can grow and sell strawberries wich are technically fruit), milk, eggs, and wool, plant grass for your animals, share your stuff with people in town, or just pick flowers! There are also several festivals to go to, wich someone will come and tell you about the day before. There are also things that will happen after you do something, like throw a vgetable into the pond at the top of the mountain, or will happen one time at a certain time of year, like fixing a bridge.You can even collect pictures of certain events, like winning a horse race, or even a picture taken at your wedding! It's a great game, and if you don,t alredy have it GET IT BEFORE TIME RUNS OUT!!

OMG this is a BEST buy! Probably not very good for boys because it doesn't have violence, but hey, im only stereotyping here! But it's kinda hard to raise livestock if u don't read the instructions... But Everything else is GREAT! Decent graphics, but not good enough if u are a graphics freak, meaning ur the kind of person who would say, "If it isn't 3D 3rd person view gameplay, i'm not buying it!" then this isn't the game for u! Definetely for those who get carsick, like me.
