Editorial Review: The world's favorite spineless superhero returns in a 3-D adventure that, at first glance, appears to be a worthy successor to the original 16-bit version of this classic action arcade game. However, there's no squirming past the squeamish truth of Earthworm Jim 3D--this game suffers from the dreaded bad camera angle syndrome. EWJ could have been a sleeper hit, but unless you have a strong tolerance for frustration, it's recommended that you avoid this one.
A trademark feature of all EWJ games is the title character's ongoing (and highly unfortunate) collision with cows--and this adventure is no different. The wiggly worm gets smacked in the cranium with a certain bovine and ends up in a cow-induced coma. So, the game takes place within Jim's mind, where he must collect his marbles in order to awaken again.
Despite having decently colored (but far from spectacular) graphics and a surprisingly cool soundtrack, EWJ is often unplayable. In a fully 3-D game that features so much running, jumping, and searching for goodies, a good view of the action is most important. But here, you'll spend way too much time attempting to manually adjust the camera. This, of course, is never any fun. And even if you decide to risk your sanity and play, you'll find a game that really doesn't improve on the 3-D gameplay standards of the N64 classic Super Mario World.
With a bit more work, this could've been at least marginally interesting. As it is, EWJ is better off buried underground with the other worms. --Mark Brooks
Pros:
Decent graphics that are brightly colored
Odd mishmash of music styles that fits the wackiness of the gaming world
Cons:
Simply horrendous camera that requires too much manual input to be of any use
Uninspired gameplay gives EWJ a rather tired feeling
Possibility of a sequel has us terrified

Rating: - Possibly the greatest N64 title(besides conker's BFD.)
I bought this game for $15 bucks, turns out it was worth every
cent, the graphics totally revolutionize the Earthworm Jim series. The games gameplay offers: Jim sent to the hospital from
the warzone, you must complete about 4 or 6 different peices from
Jim's weird little mind,I mean a seriously weird mind,cheesey
volcanos and chicken eggs attatched to his anonymously weird
zapper? c'mon you gotta laugh some time this game is weird but
simply hilarious!!!They seem to have a market for Blood, gore, and bones though, throughout the game I have noticed
that! My cousin Brandon thinks the game is hilarious! He also
owns the first 2 Earthworm Jim games for Sega Genisis,I don't know if he has earthworm Jim 3D or not though, take my advice
BUY THIS GAME,IT'S FREAKI'N AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: - It can drive people crazy.
Earthworm Jim 3D is a game where EWJ must collect his marbles in order to be as smart as a Superhero once again.
There were some good stuff on this game like:
Impressive graphics(Quite cool to see Jim in 3D).
New guns and characters.
Voice actors from the Hit TV series.
Features characters like Evil The Cat,Bob & #4,Professor Monkey,Psycrow.
Features some wacky characters like Disco Zombies and Grannys!
But on the down side:
The Pork Boarding levels were a bit too complicated.
It's quite hard to duck and shoot at the same time.
The camera angles were not good.
As for a non EWJ gamer I don't think you should get this game.
But for those who are EWJ fans well you'll see what I mean.
Rating: - Garbage!
This game in no way compares to the rest of the earthworm jim series. The camera is aweful, the music stinks, the characters are drawn with none of the coolness of the other games, it is total junk. No fun at all to play, it is for 10 year olds at most.
Rating: - You guys are harsh!
This was overall a good game, ... It was light hearted and silly, but funny and fun to play. It had problems like a very linear format where you had to beat everything in order and if you got stuck on the bosses you were in trouble. But for the young or just the young at heart this game is good.
Rating: - Awesome
