Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - PERFECTION,thy name is dragon ash
o.k i waited to reveiw this album last because it's my favourite. It's flawless!,honestly!PERFECT! kenji (now kj) wrote this album with the guys when he was 19,that's right 19! the flow of the album is so special, filled with the most beautiful guitar plucking you'll ever hear in your life with an AMAZING subtle hip-hop sound as soon as the intro starts you know your in for something pretty special (written by dj bots, later a d.a member).i'm not going to even say any stand out songs because it's that brilliant it wouldn't feel fair.the bonus track is called iceman.i forgot to say but the bonus track on viva la revloution (which you'll rush to buy) is called hot cake & the bonus track on lily of da valley is called lily of da hill.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dragon Ash prove once again why they rule
After releasing "Mustang", Dragon Ash did a collaboration with DJ BOTS for the singles version of their hit song "Cowboy F***!", which awakened the band members' love for hip hop. Though they started as a pure rock/pop group, hip hop became more prominent over the years, and on Buzz Songs you can see the first traces of it beginning to work it's way into their music. There is hardly any outright rapping yet, but BOTS is a full fledged member of the band, and his turntables definitely play an equal part in the music as the guitars.

I have to say that the "sound" of Buzz Songs is one of the best that D.A. ever created. When it works, it REALLY works. The absolute high point is the blinding perfection of "Invitation" and "Under Age's Song", which are paired in the center of the album (and MUCH better than their singles versions). "Invititation" sounds like the best song that Beck never got around to writing, with some excellent DJ effects and riffing in the beginning, slowly being taken over by a beautiful melody and acoustic guitar that fades out into "Under Age's Song", this album's big single. A 6+ minute ballad that is just plain pretty from beginning to end, it's definitely the high point of the record.

These songs alone make "Buzz Songs" worth purchasing. The reason that this album doesn't get five stars is that the songwriting is a bit inconsistent this time out. Some songs on the second half just don't sound finished, and some of the first half meanders a bit. But it's still an awesome album, with the fun punk song "Mustang a Go Go!" and the untitled bonus track pumping up the energy nicely towards the end. This is primarily a transistion album into "Viva la Revolution", which was Dragon Ash's defining moment, but "Buzz Songs" is more than worth it for any fan.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Surprising
Dragon ash is one band that i thought i would never like.I mean i know like 5 or 6 words of japanese and thats it but yet i love them.In my opinion dragon ash have 2 sides to them there first side where they were more alternative and punk "mustang" and "Public Garden...And there 2nd side is more hip hop/rock."Lilly of da valley" and "Viva La Revolution".But "Buzz Songs" captures a fair middle ground between the 2.This cd sound like the most depressing out of the 4 full lengths with alot of acoustic vocals.

The standouts on this one are "Under Ages Song" and "Invitation".
They are both great musically.Dragon ash never have failed to impress me and Buzz songs is i think one of there best. However i dont know if its worth 40 bucks.U decide.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Dragon ash
This is without doubt the best album I have ever heard, the unique blend of J-pop, punk and hip hop, make every track gel together wonderfully. The way each tune can convey so many emotions in such a short period of time makes the album a real experience to listen to. the lyrics are both thought provoking and beautiful, in short this album cannot be faulted in any way.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Top-rated Jpop
Dragon Ash is currently one of my favorite artists. Buzz Songs and all their other stuff is wonderful. If you want some excellent Japanese hip-hop, buy it!
