Rating: - I don't get the bad reviews...
This game brought me hours of fun I don't know what everyones problem is.
Rating: - What's worse? This game or Tom Cruise's ego?
One complaint people had about the movie was that it was almost nothing like the TV show (thanks to Tom Cruise's behind-the-scenes editing to make himself a bigger star). If those people were to play this game, they would probably have an anerism.
This game is some-what modeled after the movie. You're in Prague and trying to get secret files at a party. As you might expect, you have to accomplish tasks assigned to you - you know, pick up a sheet of paper, give it to a guy, walk into a bathroom, put some thing in a drink, really exciting stuff...
...oh wait, I'm sorry. There are two arctic levels beforehand. Never mind. You have to do those first before getting on to the actual film part.
OK, back to the game proper. You enter the KGB headquarters of Prague (didn't know the Czechs were still Communist) and help free a friend of yours before entering the...um...top secret sewer system that...um...happens to be in the KGB embassy because it...makes perfect sense...
There's a really stupid aspect of the game here. You lose your pistol for a dart gun. And guess what? It shoots sleep darts. That's right. That's your weapon for most of the game. A dart gun that puts people to sleep. Did the makers of this game have issues with violence?
The later missions get really annoying. They give you 20 things to do, and its easy to fail them all or get captured (which is a lot worse than getting killed). And then you have to start all over again. Some things are really hard, and they aren't about to hint at you want to do. The fact that quite often the guards wake up from those sleep darts they like to supply you doesn't help at all. I often played levels thinking, "Gee, it'd be great if I could kill some one..."
You may notice I said capturing was worse than getting killed. That's because of two things: 1) if a guard approaches you and points a gun then BAM you lose instantly (yet another sign of Pacifist game-makers) 2) they give you an AMAZING amount of HP, so it's often impossible to get killed. This one time I had the main character standing in the doorway of the KGB headquarters with guards shooting him nonstop. I left the room, got a drink and snack, talked to my sister for a bit, then walked back into my room...and the guy is STILL taking bullets! How is this humanly possible?! And this is on the hardest difficulty level!
This game was such a waste. If I didn't enjoy running and gunning inside the KGB headquarters I would give it one star.
Rating: - Worst N64 Game Ever
... In more ways then one, it trys to match the style and fun of Goldeneye, but fails miserably. Considering this game was made after Goldeneye, you would think it would at least have quality graphics, but no. Gameplay and control is horrible and frustrating, where it offers only one controller set up and one camera angle where you are stuck behind the character. The missions are vrey booring too. This game is very hard even on the "possible" setting and has glitches where you loose the missions at the end after doing everything your supposed to. Do yourself a favor and never play this horrible game.
Rating: - BAD!
This game stinks! I hate it! The olny level I liked was a snow one that had two parts to it, I couldent unlock any levels so I olny had 2. The stupit level I also had was this masion thing that was impossible! I hated to stick those things in the vents and of the vents I ALWAYS got caught. Yes, this game does have good video but thats it. DONT GET!
Rating: - AWESOME!
This is an awesome game. If you liked the movie, get this game. I have beat it twice and it is still fun. No matter what people say, I think ALL the levels are fun in their own way. This is not violent at all, the people you shoot just fall on the ground and dissapear. This game is MUCH more fun than Goldeneye. Try it!
