Editorial Review: Based on the toy line of miniaturized cars, Penny Racers is cutesy kart racing with a twist. Rather than selecting a car with predetermined characteristics as in most games of this genre, you customize a generic Racer with almost 100 parts in eight different categories. Starting off with the worst possible parts, you must win races to get better parts, which you "relieve" the losers of; this can lead to some serious cutthroat action when it comes to multiplayer games. High replay value is further upped by the game's "New Track" option, which allows you to create your very own tracks.
The downside to all these custom options is the fact that a Memory Pack is more of a necessity than a "supported" accessory. Without one, you can't save any Racer or track data, and it would be a real shame to lose that Japanese noodle shop truck with the off-road tires and roof-mounted cannon when you turn off your Nintendo. --Joe Hon
Pros:
Wide variety of customization options for your Racer
Ability to create your own tracks
High replay value and excellent multiplayer action
Cons:
Memory Pack more of a requirement than an option
3- and 4-player modes available only on custom-made tracks
Cartoony theme may turn off veteran gamers

Rating: - Okay, But Could've Been Better
This was an okay game. The tracks were pretty sweet thats about the only good thing in this game.
Rating: - Excellent
I am very pleased with the delivery and the quality. Thank you so much!
Rating: - Mediocre
This game is okay. It's not very exciting. The graphics aren't very good, and the cars start s-l-o-w. Come to think of it, the graphics aren't very good at all. The weapons and blowup scenes are kind of hokey. The music is sad. VERY lame. It sounds like a cell phone song. I was looking at this when it was 50 bucks, and I saw it two weeks later for 30, so I bought it. There's a reason the price dropped so fast. I do like the customizable cars, (paint, parts) and tracks, but the racing itself detracts from it. BUY MARIOKART. MUCH better. But I do like that noodle truck. -Mark
Rating: - penny Racers
I think that over all Penny Racers is a good game but sometimes it can get a bit boring because of slow moving cars. On the other hand it is good because you must come in a certian place to upgrad your car to get you to win more races. Another important factor which makes it good is that you have skilled opponints
Rating: - more mario cart than mario kart
This game is pretty sweet. It's alot of fun to play and kinda cartoony. In my opinion, its more like mario cart (which I loved) on the super nintendo then mario kart on the n64 is. This is a good thing, its fast paced with decent (not great) graphics and the sound is appropriate. Bottom line is; if you liked mario kart for super nintendo and were disappointed by the n64 conversion (like I was) you'll like PennyRacers.
