Editorial Review: WCW/nWo Revenge improves on its predecessor, WCW vs. nWo World Tour, in almost every way. First, the graphics have improved so that the characters are very lifelike and the fights are a bit more realistic. You will also see a huge roster of familiar faces and pay-per-view backdrops such as Starrcade, Superbrawl, and Halloween Havoc. Unfortunately, the sound has not improved, leaving you with just the oohs and ahhs of the crowd plus the WCW Nitro theme. Sorry, no commentary.
The gameplay is very similar to WCW vs. nWo World Tour except that timing has become much more important--you don't just pound the buttons for special moves. There are several game modes, including challenges for all WCW belts (some are available only after you unlock them), battle royal, handicapped matches, and exhibition matches. Furthermore, winning belts will unlock other wrestlers such as Kidman, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Curt Hennig.
Although there is room for improvement, WCW/nWo fans will enjoy WCW/nWo Revenge. --Hugh Arnold

Pretty good game, especially considering when it was made. One of the first wrestling games to have the grappling system used today. Not on No Mercy's level, but probably the best game WCW put out.

This is and was the best wrestling game ever and the big bonus is it's WCW/NWO not WWE so all the wrestlers are awesome!

Fun game featuring older stars such as Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Bret Hart, Raven, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Randy Savage, Lex Luger, Sting, DDP, among others.
Fantastic gameplay, visuals that are passble by the day's standards and a fun multiplayer mode.

Is suprising some people still play Nintendo 64 and PS1-I still play N64 when i am bored even though i have a PS2 and GameCube-Or sometimes i take out old PS1 games(ala Driver,WWF SD! 2)

The N64 series of games Like No mercy, WCW Revenge and WM XX, were the best wrestling games around AT THE TIME. They were all carbon copies of each other as far as the engine goes, which isn't really a bad thing. This game really has the Golden Years of WCW down as far as Roster goes and they also added Misc. Fake wrestlers such as AKI man. Something that does get on my nerves about the people who review games is when people speak in "ebonics" speak such as the reviewer a few reviews ago. I thought a pre-schooler wrote it, da this and da that, its called Phonics! Hooked on Phonics Might work for you!
