Editorial Review:
One of the best snowboarding games on any platform, 1080 Snowboarding faithfully recreates the mountain experience with beautiful graphics, realistic character and environment physics, atmospheric sound effects, and addictive gameplay. Players compete on a variety of unique tracks ranging from a half-pipe and long jump--both devoted to trick-happy boarders--to long descents that offer plenty of environmental obstacles, including jumps, deep powder, ice, and thick stands of trees. On several tracks, simply reaching the bottom of the hill is an accomplishment in itself.

Much of the game's appeal lies in the finely tuned player controls. As in real life, learning the basics--turning, jumping, carving--is a snap. Honing one's skills to smoothly land a jump, pull off complex in- air tricks, and negotiate tight turns and steep descents, however, is very challenging. It's this appealing combination of skill learning and track mastering that promises to entice players back to the slopes season after season. Extra kudos to the designers for the beautifully realistic sound effects--scraping along icy sections of the track is, literally, a tooth-grinding experience. --Eric Twelker

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - 1080 BORING!
this is the stuppidiest game i've ever played. I advise everyone not to play it or buy it. It really sucked.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Finally; a great snowboarding game.
I used to love this game; but now it's dated and now that I look back on it, it's not as fun now, either way, here's my review.

Graphics: 8.5/10. This is a more realistic snowboarding game, so there are very realistic colors; unlike snowboarding kids or anything with very bright colors. 1080 features very realistic physics and is very sophisticated. Anyways, the graphics I remember loving mainly because of the powdery snow. I liked to edge in deep snow just because it was it was so fluffy. For that, this game got what it got in this category.

Sound: 9/10. Whether you go through a foot of snow or right accross jagged ice, there's a different noise. There is a different sound for everything, which is strange because really for the most part in many games on the N64 there is the same or a very similar song for everything in the game.

Control: 8/10. Very, very realistic and solid, but It's frustrating for that reason. it is really realistic so you really have to land FLAT to get land, which can be frustrating for little kids. There is also damage; so if you get beat up a lot you will not win the race.

Fun: 8.5/10. Nice and realistic, great events, and different difficulties for every age and cool characters make this a must play for any owner of an N64.

9/10

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Snowboarding Game.
What can I say except for the fact that this is one of the first 3 dimensional snowboarding games to ever come out for the home console. Now, as one of the first genres of its kind to hit the market, you can't expect this game to be perfect, but it is an incredibly fun game. Now, the only lack I have seem to find in this game is the lack of characters. There is only about five of them. The graphics are awesome, considering how old and outdated the n64 graphics are. There are a lot of levels, all of which are pretty long ones too, as well as pretty challenging. There is a huge amount of moves in this game, but sometimes, this can become a little bit tedious. It is actually kind of hard to land big combo tricks, and the controls are frustrating for the moves. In fact, I have had this game for 6 years, and still have yet to pull off the next to impossible 1080. But if you are one of the lucky ones who are fortunate enough to still have a working n64, and don't have this game, than definately add it to your collection of antique n64 games. Not much to say about multiplayer, because it does not really shine in that area. It's just an addition to the things you can do in this game besides beat it. But after you are done beating it, it becomes boring because the only thing you can do after that is try to break your records and race against your friends in vs mode. Overall, I think this is the best snowboarding game to ever come on the market, considering it is also the first. Get this game if you don't have it. It's old, but fun.

Amazing This game rocks! This game allows you to go at (...)-kicking speeds to race other pro snowboarders. With outstanding graphics, this might as well be one of the best N64 games ever!
